Be the Roar

When asked what they miss the most, former professional athletes, and Paralympians often respond, “The roar of the fans in the stands.”

We want the more than 300 athletes coming to compete in our Durham Region 2023 Ontario Parasport Games to experience the roar of the fans in the stands. You answered the call to Be the Roar during our 2019 Games and the athletes were wowed.

We’re asking schools, classrooms, teams, clubs, workplaces, churches, and community groups of any kind to adopt a team and become their fan club.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Send an email to our Be the Roar team at betheroar@durhamregion2023.ca and they will help you pick a team or athlete that your group can adopt.
2. Write letters of encouragement for the teams and athletes to be delivered when they arrive for the Games.
3. Fill the stands when your team and athletes are competing (we will send you their schedule).

Help us make these Games most memorable for our visiting athletes.
